Silver Cascade
Silver Cascade waterfall is located on the Ghat Road about 8 km from Kodaikanal. The overflow of Kodaikanal Lake comes down here as sheer drop of 180 feet high falls leaping over a steep cliff, crashing into a pool beside the ghat Road. This waterfall can be delightful and impressive during the monsoon when the fall is in full flow.
Silver Cascade Falls was noted for its erstwhile clean, pure and glittering water and so the name Silver Falls. It is a wonderful roadside scenery not to be missed enroute to Kodaikanal. Earlier the authorities used to let tourists take a quick bath here. Nowadays, the Cascade area is fenced and a small park is maintained around it, so its good only for a 5 min break of journey and snaps. The water quality (from the Lake - impure source) is also reportedly poor nowadays, not good enough for taking bath.
